My bet is they shipped 15m. I guess we'll know in a couple of days anyway. xD

My prediction is 15.1 million (made that prediction back in November :P ).

Nintendo's console's sales are usually January-September roughly equal October-December.

I just multiplied the 7.63 million shipped by 2x and shaved a little due to supply constraints.

It is surprising how oddly consistent Nintendo is with that sales pattern ( Jan-Sept = Oct-Dec ) through all the varying market conditions.

I'll be bold and say... 15.4M

Software tie ratio,in case you never see it,its to the right of the graphs :)

What's that STR?

Software tie ratio, aka how many games per console

I didn't think it would pass the Wii this year, but it managed to do it (even if it lasts for only a little while). The Switch is nuts. It is selling like crazy by any objective standard.

People are saying that the Switch has huge stock issues in Japan again. I don't know how much those claims hold up, but it had a huge drop there on the 2nd week of January, sold around 37k, and the week after was 42k I believe (these numbers could be higher). If we take into consideration that the Switch has sold more units in Japan so far than Europe with the current data, I wouldn't be surprised if European numbers were as low as that as well, even if there aren't stock issues. I'm really starting to question if it's actually possible for the Switch to sell 200k+ weekly in January. There weren't any new releases either. I hope it does, but I guess that Japan boost isn't there- for now.

Many other reports from Japan. But it's 100% clear that it has huge stock issues there.

I guess most of their shipments were sold in holiday season then, and the stock is deliberately supply constrained because Nintendo had no games in January. Just my two cents, but Nintendo is going to need to up that stock by March. Kirby will sell consoles in Japan. I expect at least 500,000 units sold by the end of 2018 in Japan alone, anyway. It'll probably set records on release and exceed my expectations, just like Mario Odyssey did in Japan. Kirby will stay on the Japanese charts for a long, long time, regardless. I don't see anything in 2018 releasing in Japan that will beat Kirby as their system seller unless they announce Animal Crossing or have that Pokemon title for the holiday season or something. Or hell, Monster Hunter anything.

Show me what games Nintendo published and released in January or forget what you just said. Also, the supply constraints are my SUBJECTIVE suggestion, I never said it was fact, because how would I know if a product is supply constrained?

Luckily Switch gets more than just Nintendo published games, this month alone we got:

- Super Meatboy

- Darkest Dungeon

- Celeste

I'm only listing the games that received very good reviews and are selling well on the eshop.

In February we will get:

- Night in the Woods

- Dragon Quest Builders

- Bayonetta 1+2

- Owlboy

- Fe
