Really big shame. Miiverse was probably my favorite thing about Wii U. Made some good friends and saw a bunch of amazing drawings. Maybe someone could contact Nintendo and beg them to keep it up.

Man, I can't even imagine the amount of data that all of this information would take up. I wonder what he's going to do once he has it all backed up.

I just found out they were going to shut it down in November. I know they are pushing the Switch era but this is absurd. They will still sell you a Wii U game for $60 but now you don't get the community support e.g. sharing levels on Mario Maker or puzzle help for Zelda.

To me it makes little business sense to discontinue the Miiverse. It's a great beacon for people to find and appreciate Nintendo and the games on the Wii U/3DS. And it's not like there's a social platform like that available on the Switch...

I used to play Mario Maker with my wife's user (she actually barely played, but hers was the default user). Result: the only "communication" I received from Miiverse was a kid first trying to flirt with me and then tagging a dick drawing to one of my levels.

Conclusion: Burn it down, won't miss it.
