Lol, this almost got me. Of course a new well designed and fun console is out selling a 4 year old co sole and that stat where it took the ps4 69 weeks as opposed to the switches 26 that is once again the current sales of the 4 year old ps4 compared to the extremely new switch. How and why is this shocking. Im very glad to see Nintendo doing well though, i love competition since it helps drive innovation

What? You do realize this graph is comparing the Switch and PS4 with launch aligned numbers, thus why it can tell what PS4's numbers are at week 69.

Yes, PS4 has terrible 1st year in Japan, and actually one worst ever for any handheld/console in Japan, but later its start selling better.

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't this common for new consoles?

The Switch is practically brand-new, obviously it's going to outsell the competition!

True, but in this very topic there is also a graph with the two systems launches aligned and the Switch has sold in 26 weeks what the PS4 took 69 weeks to sell.

So not only is it selling better right now, it is selling better than the PS4 ever did.

PS4 is having its best year ever now, its 4th year in the market. You can come to a conclusion with that.



Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Switch doesnt need ps4 to look good. Should kotaku have compared it to the psvita then? (No youll say just 3ds only)

 

That said ps4 is a better choice than vita and switch is a home console as well. Beside what does it matter? You have no problem comparing nintendo things outside of Japan (like in UK) so stop complaining lol
