The PS4 version runs it at 60fps too... but in the most demanding area's it can drop to the 50-55fps range.

its a screen effect, it blurrs things on purpose, so your eyes naturally focus on the thing they want you too.

They use it in movies too, and might explain why the wall looks that way.

The xbox one X version currently doesnt have it,.... and looks much better because of it.

Not all developers are equally good at using with stuff like motion blurr & dept of field.

Thats not really true, its more the game can hit 60fps when looking at the air and usually drop between 35-50 (average about 46) fps and be very unstable

The xbox one x offers the same modes as ps4 so we have to see how the one x can hold 60fps

These are both from a Normal PS4 (not a pro):




notice the differnce in dirt on her face (it comes down to how you played the level, or if you reloaded a save game, close to when you took it).

So those guys saying "yeah on the xbox one x, you notice more dirt on her face"  that might not be because of anything extra graphically, just gameplay by the guy that took the screenshots.

 

 

Now look at the compairsion again:

Forget the dirt on the face.

Its the textures of that artifact, and the stone table, and the texture of the clothes.

Thats where the upgrades show most for the xbox one x version.

So if the Xone X is the only version with HDR support by definition it would look a lot better on my tv. The additional textures are also nice and it seems to be the most polished version of Tomb Raider yet.

It really does. Was playing Uncharted LL yesterday with the HDMI running through the PSVR (which doesn't support hdr) and certain parts looked dark. I switched the HDMI and so many details popped up. It's really the first time I saw such a drastic difference. I had my 4K since November but I never really realized how big of a difference it made.
