What Resolution is the ps4 pro checkerboarding from?

Native 4k 3840x2160 - X1X

Checkerboard 4k 1920x2160 - PS4 Pro

and higher textures resolution and AF filtering on X1X.

This is difference bigger than PS4 Pro vs PS4.

Checkerboard isn't as simple as halving the resolution, there is lot more work involved to simulate 4K. You save far less than 50% by using checkerboard rendering. Then you have another year to touch up textures and effects and the result is still not obvious unless you watch it side by side, zoomed in. Gimme the whole game in VR on the 2880x1440 mixed reality headsets, then I'll be impressed.

XB1 X version will be patched with newer 4K/8K textures and DOF corrected. Of course it would detailed when scaled with higher res..

Did I miss something?

Texture maps on the Lara

Ryuu should me a picture where it showed the wall with hieroglyphics, there was quite a big difference there. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I'll be able to dig it up.

Not seeing much of a difference myself but I don't expect a big jump from PS4 (OG) to PS5 either. Graphics has plateau'd.

The biggest problem is there's nothing new to play.

Tomb Raider in 4k is good and well but it's also a game that's almost 3 years old and has multiple different versions.

But then a lack of new games is the hallmark of xbox this gen

Lack of new games and yet there are at least idk... ten exclusive Xbone games I haven't had a chance to play yet that are all confirmed to get Scorpio updates. Not to mention all the multiplats which should now be de facto standard superior on Scorpio. Maybe a lack of games is an issue for you, but then again this console isn't for you. Then again that's also irrelevant to how much better Tomb Raider looks on Scorpio than Pro.

I already use the Xbone to play inferior looking multiplats because I prefer (imho) the superior controller, network, and UI. Now I can have all that AND much better graphics than I could have on my PS4. Very exciting times :)

It looks the same to me. I know Xbox One X is better because everyone is saying it's better and because it's supposed to be better, but apart from some blood on her face, I really can't see any big difference. I'm more interested in 60 fps gaming, will the Xbox One X be the first console to deliver that?

At 4k? Fuck no. At 1080p for this game? Yea it can according to DF

Yeah, that was it! Not sure what DoF is though.

Depth of Field

What does that mean, exactly?

I actually bought this game for both PS4 Pro and Xbox One. Even then, the differences didn't blow me away. Still excited about playing on Xbox One Eggs, though.
