I'm just saying generally speaking companies don't dump a license like that with a recent success like that.

VGChartz as much as I like the community, their sales tracking IMO is fairly dubious. It's a site basically run by fans, and while that's admirable, how really would they get detailed sales information "for free"? The vast majority of numbers here are basically guesses, there is no retailer that would give a non-industry website detailed sales tracking information up in that fashion (it's part of the reason why NPD can charge for their service).

Again, they didn't; they fast tracked a sequel which subsequently flopped, after that they dumped it. Eurocom even said in an interview they were pleased with the sales of Goldeneye on Wii.

And if COD wasn't successful on Wii, Activision wouldn't have kept bringing them over year after year.

I think they sold OK, but the only one listed here as a million seller is one of the COD games:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_Wii_video_games

I tend to think this list is more on par because it's from cited sources and not basic guesstimates.

In any case, like I said, Wii is basically it's own island, developers never took it that seriously because of the "it's the Wii Sports box for casuals" stigma that it always had. Why develop anything with huge resources on Wii when it was just as likely something like Deca Sports or Carnival Games would sell as much if not more.

Wikipedia sales numbers are notoriously inaccurate, they often take a number from well before a product finishes selling and never update it. If you look at the sources on that list, many are premature. Their World at War figure links to an article from 2009.

At the end of the day, the proof is in the pudding; they wouldn't have continued making COD games for Wii if it wasn't a profitable venture.

Surprise comes from absence of expectation.

And? EA doesn't have the greatest track record on Nintendo consoles.
