Seriously, the first second I saw that suit I thought to myself "I seriously hope the sweet looking design isn't at the cost of more pragmatic concerns" lol... The first thing that came to mind was the lack of a visor to protect from radiation should they leave the ship, though I'm sure they've something in place for that. Of course, they still have no solution for protecting the astronauts from radiation during the journey (especially if a solar flare should intercept them), but that's another matter as the Apollo crews faced the same issue even with their bulky suits.
That said, there should be no "balance of aesthetics and function" when the missions they've lined up for themselves are borderline suicidal to begin with. Regardless of what you are "pioneering", said "pioneering" era must focus entirely on pragmatic and safety concerns over looking cool while they do it lol
