You guys really didn't know the ps3 could do all that?
@ makingmusic:
man I didn't know either, untill I bought it lol
@rason77
it's done wirelessly throgh WIFI and windows media player on your laptop.go to library tab in WMP(media player) and add the files/folders you want in the folder ,,any file you want:Pics / music/ movies.
then simply turn PS3 on and go back to laptop and open sharing options in WMP and click allow device, PS3 will be shown as unkown device,to share with your laptop.
then ps3 will sepate PICs,movies, musics in the XBM so they are organized .the Speed is pretty good aswell.hope this helps
I think the 360 can do this too, but my old PC was so lame, that I couldn't get it to work. I got a new laptop right before Christmas, but I haven't tried it yet.
The 360 can do everything that was posted on this thread- stream movies, external HDD + it can play your music whilst you are playing games + music playlists + rip music straight off CD + there are some reported problems with streaming from PC using Windows Media Player for PS3.

Plus, if you say you are a movie buff, the Xbox Live Marketplace has HD movie and TV downloads, and assuming you are in the US, to me its better than paying so much for Blu-Rays.
Anyway you have already put up your Sony camp so I will stop commenting here.
| Dogs Rule said: Congratulations. Off topic: Have you considered getting Warhawk? I organize the official VGC league (info in Sony forum's Sticky). Because I find similarities in the games you might like such as the ability to get into any vehicle you see lying around (jeeps, tanks (think of them as Rhinos) and planes), hit people with wrenches, run around and shoot in a 3rd person perspective. Anyways, it might be something to consider if you want to get into online gaming. I think they are running a sale on it in the PSN store. |
Warhawk man that game is average and its online only and newbies would get pwned unless they are serious gamer.
Anyway well done on your PS3 console purchase but $400 to $500US for one game is a bit steep to pay for just one game.
