Forums - Gaming - Activision: Destiny 2 DLC could be as important as the Base game

Aka pay extra for full content.

I dont get why people are hating on this. Destiny is the type of game that survives based on post launch content.

Agreed.  I like Destiny specifically because there is new content fairly regularly.

Wow, DLC as important as the main game? That's not a surprise, considering they lock you out of things you normally could do once the DLC comes out. Also, if the DLC is so important, I'm sure they'll turn down Sonys check this time to pay for delaying pieces of that important DLC to Xbone and PC users for a year+. Totally sure.

did you play destiny and its expansions?

a common theme i've noticed with destiny haters, is that for the most part they never played the game, they simply parrot what they hear other people saying

I haven't played Destiny, but it doesn't take a blind eprson to notice that;

1) the game isn't perfect, otherwise they wouldn't bother learning and changing things up.

2) It's obvious that not everyone liked each and every expansion, which you can clearly see all over youtube from various players and various youtube folk who are well known within different gaming communities.

You seem to have this odd fixation like some have had on here, where the game is simply godlike amazing and any ill talk has poeople labled rather easily as "haters".

no i didn't say that its godlike at all, but i do think you have to play a game to level the kind of criticisim i saw you levelling towards it, where you said the dlc was shallow and overpriced

All DLC is shallow and overpriced. This is the nature of modern DLC.

Destiny's original pricing was horrible for the The Taken King, you remember that? They released The Taken King as a full package for like $80, it included the original game, first 2 expansions and the Taken King DLC, what made people angry is that the DLC on it's own was $40. Meaning if you purchase the game on release, DLC on release, and Taken King on release as DLC only (not entire bundle) it would have cost you like $120 instead just because you were an early adopter. This was highly disrespectful to those customers.

I played Destiny for some of the first year until just after Taken King, don't usually buy DLC plus, lack of friends or a match making system, meant I never even did the base games 'Raid'. I ednjoyed what I played of it though, when they introduced match making on weekly strikes I enjoyed it more but the Destiny 2 beta was not good. No customisation, a long drawn out strike (with so many drops people just died from falling), specials are now in Heavy category with very limited ammo and 4v4 PvP? Yeah, no thanks. I'm more interested in playing Destiny 1 again than 2.

Hmm, pie.

That one you are paying for a lot of content with a fair price, and the other that you are paying for something that is not worth the price being asked?

Mario Kart 8 and The Witcher 3 DLC price was 20 dollars I believe but they added so much to the game.MK 8 added about 50% more content to the game, and the Witcher 3 was a 40 hours adventure(give or take), with this added content being of a very high quality.(Mind you that the main agme was around 70 hours of so playing normaly)

As for Destiny, it was the complete oposite. It was extremely expensive, and each expansion didnt add alot of content.Thats why people are pissed.

I did.And the only thing I liked about the game is the gunplay, which is amazing. The rest is subpar or boring.Thats my opinion of course.I just personaly dont think the DLC is nowhere near worth 120 dollars and every expansion was way overpriced for what it offered.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

You didn't say the word specifically, but you imply that it's something akin to godlike.

I'm sure you were talking to the other person in regards to "not playing it" beforehand. I had already told you what I have seen and heard.

I don't think one has to buy into MT's for example to know when they are "shallow" when others and even "professionals" can detail it for you. There is a reason why critics, reviews and opinions exist for a reason.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Inb4 "well maybe the game isn't for you" response.
