Forums - Nintendo - Splatoon 2 with Motion Controls and Seperate Joycons

Haven't played the game myself but you're the only person I've heard say the stick controls are bad. Still think it would be worse to deny TV players access to a superior control method.

When did I make a case for motion controls to be gone? lol

I didn't say you did, just saying I'm glad Nintendo didn't take that alternative. I'm never going to take Switch out of its dock when I get one and I wouldn't even play Splatoon if it didn't have motion controls.

Yeah I only use motion controls in bed. I have Spla2oon, Arms, and Zelda, and out of those Zelda is the only good one when undocked.

Yes, the split Joycons are very good in this game, especially given how you only need to move one hand, but Pro controller is still definitely the best option imo.

I will get a pro controller when there is a discount for it. I'm just glad there is a great substitute for it so that I won't have to dump $70 on a controller just to be good at this game so early.

When I was playng Splatoon 2 with my joycon grips, something just didn't feel right. Whenever I tried to aim at someone, I always keep missing most of my shots due to my crosshair missing them by an inch which results into me getting splatted. So then I decided to use seperate joycons and use the splattershot pro for ranked maches. Holy crap seperate joycons are incredibly underrated for this game! My shots are super accurate, its super comfortable, and its super reliable. I ranked up a ton thanks to this change in control schemes. Try it for yourself and maybe you won't need to buy a pro controller for this game.

So, one CAN play by pointing at the screen like old Wii FPSs, as Goldeneye. Our dear Rolstopable said it wasn't possible...
