Great for the game! It's like every two or three weeks i see a new milestone! One ofthose games that deserve the sales.

Steamspy is a godsend that i just recently found about. There's something satisfying about knowing that you're part of a community that supports the video game industry despite stereotypes(I know you're being sarcastic but still)

Didn't really get what the fuss was about but then watched one of my favourite streamers play it on Twitch and I'm really enjoying watching his (and others') streams of it.

Would love to get into it myself but I'm absolutely atrocious at shooters on PC without a controller (which pretty much rules out playing PvP. And yes I did try, and it went even worse than expected, so I'll stick to just watching others).

6 million in such a short period of time is insane. Hasn't had any price cuts either. Props to the dev.

The game isn't really about shooting. It's more about tactic and luck. Skill is secondary.

Steam users do have a reputation to buy games that they never intend to play.
My 500+ game Steam library agrees...

Well I was talking about sales and not playing

I'm guilty as well.... sorry Half Life 2 : (

The amount this has sold is impressive. I think Twitch has really helped it's success as people who played other games before are ALL playing this now. It beats LoL all the time in viewer numbers now.

I think the 'fad' will pass in time but still.

Hmm, pie.

That's the thing though, is it really a fad?. We haven't had a really good BR shooter in years, if at all. We haven't had one in the AAA space within the same vein as PuB and people are seemingly buying this quite rapidly and in large numbers to boot. We've seen AAA and other non MP indie games selling millions, yet those aren't really regarded as "fads", just look at Minecraft for example.

I just find it really weird to cite it's success on it being a mere fad, while other games have sold the same and aren't considered being a fad.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

A good question, is it a 'fad'?

I personally think it is, in terms of Twitch viewership at least. League has a lot of viewers on Twitch due to sheer number of streamers, players and therefore those interested. I think while this is popular now, and will remain popular with players, in time viewers will go to other things (or their stables), even if the streamers are still playing it.

In a way, like Destiny and Overwatch, maybe more so the latter as that now has sustained numbers but at first both had high numbers as they were the 'in games' at the time. Difference being that PubG is a smaller developer, less hype and has built up it's reputation. I mean, how long do you think subscribers of Syndicate or nightBlue3 will enjoy watching them play a game their not known for and the reason they subscribed?
