That's the thing though, is it really a fad?. We haven't had a really good BR shooter in years, if at all. We haven't had one in the AAA space within the same vein as PuB and people are seemingly buying this quite rapidly and in large numbers to boot. We've seen AAA and other non MP indie games selling millions, yet those aren't really regarded as "fads", just look at Minecraft for example.
I just find it really weird to cite it's success on it being a mere fad, while other games have sold the same and aren't considered being a fad.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
