Glorious. I loved this game. A German sticker? If their censors were on point, this would been given more scrutiny than Wolfenstein.......
Please no ban.

I liked Command & Conquer Red Alert Retaliation for the PS1 the most.

The first Halo Wars is the best RTS on consoles bar-none. Great story, great simplified mechanics that fit the controller... And some impressive cut-scenes.
Red Alert on the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 brings up the rear though.
Playstation 1/Nintendo 64/Gamecube/Playstation 2/Xbox RTS games were just clunky and slow.

What makes HW1 better than HW2? I never played the first one but I'm thinking about picking up the definitive edition. HW2 does fit your description of the first though.

Halo Wars 2's story pacing was terrible.
It was obvious in the way it held the players hand all through the campaign, then once things started getting interesting, it came to an adbrupt end.
There just wasn't enough variety.
Plus the Characters themselves looked and sounded different from the Original Halo Wars, after you have sunk a few hundred hours into the first game it never felt right to have Cutter look and sound so different. Haha
The Multiplayer population is also dead in Oceania, so outside of the first couple of days after release I wasn't able to get a Multiplayer match, so that is a big mark against it. (But also not entirely Microsoft's fault.)
Plus the only real interesting inclusion in the Multiplayer was Blitz mode which only had one entire map on release (Not sure if they have added more, haven't cared to keep up with that games patches or DLC) not exactly going to hold my attention for long.
Microsoft really should not have closed down Ensemble Studio's, they were one of the best RTS developers of all time. And with Age of Empires 2 HD bringing that franchise back to life. Well. Big mistake in my honest opinion.

Only one I've played is Dune on the Genesis / Megadrive. I remember thinking the game was amazing and fresh, but the cursor didn't move fast enough. Then I discovered it was a mouse-centric genre on PC with Warcraft / C&C and stayed away from any further console RTS titles.
Oh wait, I guess the Fort Condor mini game in FF7 should count. So I played two, technically.
I guess Pikmin 3 by default. The only other one I can recall is some dumb pinball game with a microphone.

You're talking about Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2. Shame the consoles never received the PC expansions. That had to be my most played RTS ever. Mainly because I also like the lore of LOTR. If you combine C&C 3 with C&C3: Kane's Wrath maybe that would come close.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

RTS and consoles is a painful combo. Like playing DMC with keyboard and mouse.
