Overwatch was more GOTY awards from critics just last year. And when you include reader polls, Uncharted 4 won more. Both shooters.

Not last time I checked, but I wouldn't want to be on a controller against mostly kb/m users. PUB is a twitch shooter, a controller user would be at a big disadvantage since it's entirely competitive MP.

Because of the insane amount on people on Neogaf that called this game GOTY and I wanted to see if that's the case on Vgchartz.

It's got a lot of competition, but I can see it picking up a few awards. '17 really is stacked.

Breath of the Wild
Horizon Zero Dawn
Super Mario Odyssey
Wolfenstein The New Colossus
Assassin's Creed Origins
Shadow of War
Splatoon 2
Battlefront 2
Destiny 2
Divinity Original Sin 2

It's certainly popular enough to beat off a bunch of those titles, which I think will be the most likely to snipe off numerous GotY awards.

No, don't see it. It might be for some people, but multiplayer and PC only means I'll probably never play it.

My GOTY pick for now is Yakuza 0, but I haven't played Sexy Brutale, Resi 7 or Nier yet. Later in the year I'm expecting great thing from Wolfenstein 2.

There're many games that fit those criterias and still didn't win GOTY.
