Is there anything in the books about how well dragons perform in a blizzard? They're too OP if there's no cold penalty. Feel bad for the white walkers.

To dmeonstrate I'm not all negative, I love Hodor's conclusion and I actually got teary eyed.  Martin told the writers this scene so it fits perfectly and why it was the most impactful scene for me of all of season 6.

I do agree the source material is not made for adaptation.  the cast is massive and the show cut dozens of characters and sometimes mixed multiple characters into one.  This creates issues for me as Loras went from being one of th emost noble people in the books to a sad idiot in the show.  my sincere hope is twenty years from now the books are done and an exact adaptation via animation can be achieved.

You should watch Game of Thrones: Complete History and Lore, it's absolutely amazing!

Those are clips of moments throughout Essos and Westeros' history, narrated by some of the most iconic Game of Thrones actors. The one about the Dance of Dragons, told by Viserys (Harry Lloyd) is absolutely amazing. Or Robert's Rebellion seen by Stephen Dillane's Stannis (one of the most mesmerizing actors, such a shame the character is no longer with us).

And it is 100% faithful to the books.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm going to look for that now!

So I changed the poll to a episode rating system instead let's what people think of the first episode (when it's aired, obviously)

Add me if you want but let me know youre from this website

I have stopped to watch it because no one needs 7 years to across the sea. Plus she had dragons.

The Long Night predated any dragons in Westeros so hard to say how much it will affect then. We do know the Doom of Valyria was possibly a massive volcanic event so intense enough flames killed hundreds of dragons.

Aegon subdued the North not through combat, but submission by the king who knelt. Typically wars end in the north when Winter comes. This is years of feet upon feet of snow so be awful conditions to do about anything. This is why when Winter came to the Wall Stannis moved south, but was stuck in the snows before he got to Winterfell. Have to wait for book six to see how he fares dealing with such a formidable climate obstacle.

My guess is a second Long Night would be a challenge even with dragons.

hehe, book people complaining about the last couple seasons. I personally think the last couple have been the overall best seasons so far. So the further it gets from the books, the better!

I still enjoyed the last 2 seasons quite a bit, and it's still a great deal better than most TV out there these days. It helps that things are ramping up in the story and good things are finally starting to happen to a lot of the "good guys." Though overall 1-3 and 4 to an extent just seem on another level of quality to me. 1 through 4 were certainly darker and more depressing in many ways but overall had much better writing IMO. Plus to me, the grim nature of the first few seasons better reflects real life and real history.

It's nice to see more of the protagonists finally having things go their way in the later seasons but it's almost at an unrealistic level. Just feels like it's gone a bit too "Hollywood" to me, where the good guys are untouchable and always get their way. You can also almost tell when the show catches up to the books just based on the drop in quality of the writing and the increase in things that make no sense, as Augen explained better than I ever could.. But hey to each their own. Overall it's still highly entertaining for me. The only part of the show for me that have been noticably "bad" are the Sand Snake parts, and some of the scenes with Sam and Gilly, as well as Grey Worm/Missandei that tend to drag.

So far I am liking what I've seen for the season 7 opener.

Giants could be a difference maker if they're used like Mance used them and not how Jon did.

Lots of 'cunts' in this ep. Cersei calls Lady Olenna an old cunt, the Hound calls Beric a dumb cunt and Ed Sheeran.

5/10. Pretty meh episode. Nothing really happened.

Oh and at above posts WTF is Ed Sheeran?

An English singer. He was featured in a scene as a Lannister soldier camping in the open wild when Arya passes by on horse.

Voted a 9:

Solid and great opening and the story progressed fast and gave us a good indication of what to expect.
