hehe, book people complaining about the last couple seasons. I personally think the last couple have been the overall best seasons so far. So the further it gets from the books, the better!

I still enjoyed the last 2 seasons quite a bit, and it's still a great deal better than most TV out there these days. It helps that things are ramping up in the story and good things are finally starting to happen to a lot of the "good guys." Though overall 1-3 and 4 to an extent just seem on another level of quality to me. 1 through 4 were certainly darker and more depressing in many ways but overall had much better writing IMO. Plus to me, the grim nature of the first few seasons better reflects real life and real history.

It's nice to see more of the protagonists finally having things go their way in the later seasons but it's almost at an unrealistic level. Just feels like it's gone a bit too "Hollywood" to me, where the good guys are untouchable and always get their way. You can also almost tell when the show catches up to the books just based on the drop in quality of the writing and the increase in things that make no sense, as Augen explained better than I ever could.. But hey to each their own. Overall it's still highly entertaining for me. The only part of the show for me that have been noticably "bad" are the Sand Snake parts, and some of the scenes with Sam and Gilly, as well as Grey Worm/Missandei that tend to drag.

So far I am liking what I've seen for the season 7 opener.
