I dunno what Petyr Baelish and Varys fates are, but damn, their characters have been assassinated, they can both die any moment and no one would miss them.

What does Varys do anymore? Where are his birds? How come he failed to see anything coming? How can one name him a SPIDER anymore?

Petyr has gone from manipulating god damn kingdoms to trolling Arya and Sansa. If he ends being killed in the north it will be because the writers have decided to make him the dumbest character on the show.

I get the need to make the show EPIC and fast-pace but major characters are suffering, forget being faithful to the books, the writers are not being faithful to their own god damn TV show.

Let's talk about Euron. He has no character development whatsoever... hey guys, here is another psychopath to replace Ramsy but without the motives and the background story.

What's Euron motive? MARRYING THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN, that's all what we got. All he does is showing up in unexpected places to ruin Tyrion's plans while being a psycho.

The direction of the show is inexcusable at this point. We could've had 10 episodes to flush out the story and have a fast paced epic season at the same time.

Develop old characters like Gendry and Randyll Tarly and his family some more. Introduce new characters the proper way, especially Euron, he could've represented both, Victorian and Euron Greyjoy, they had plenty of materials to derive from the books (the writers combined characters before into one and it worked well so far), but nope, let's sexualize the strong and wise Yara for I dunno how many consecutive scenes and make the Grejoys as uninteresting as possible

Meh.

I always thought the show handled many things way better than the books, the series started showing weakness during the 5th and 6th season but I still enjoyed them without complaining. This season, however, is so epic and fun to watch yet I end up complaining after every episode. I dunno. I am conflicted and not happy

Qyburn and Cersei took control of Varys' little birds last season.

Honestly this is the first episode where the rushing to the end thing hit me really hard.

I wanted this season to be focused on a war between Daenerys and Cersei, I wanted large battles between human army's, I'm not ready for the series to go full white-walker focused.

I've loved this season so far, but the last episodes focus on the dead really bothered me, and then you realise how many other characters have been neglected by this rush to the final battle between the living and the dead.

What the hell happened to grey-worm and the rest of the unsullied and Euron Greyjoy.

What happened to Yara Greyjoy? She was paraded through kings landing and then promptly disappeared.

Theon has been completely neglected, since his sister has been taken in episode 1 we've had two brief scenes in the next 5 episodes. The one where he was fished onto the ship "If you tried you wouldn't be here." and then the very brief scene with Jon Snow, which was more focused on Jon being angry to see him then what was actually going on with Theon'.

They needed to keep it at 10 episodes, they've rushed through so much and neglected so many characters and story lines to where if it's not directly around the main (Daenerys, Jon, Starks, Lannisters) we have no idea what the hell is going on.

This was my favourite season, but episode 6 may have changed that, we'll see how it ends but my expectations are lowered.

The show is at it's strongest showing conflict between complex characters scrambling for power, not a black and white, living vs dead, good vs evil, generic threat. The white walkers have no personality.

Unfortunately, I think GRRM is as much to blame as the show writers here. Originally he was supposed to write a trilogy where the middle book concerned Dany's invasion and the last one dealed with the threat of the Others. So far, he has written five books and only the first part of his intended trilogy is done, and there is only two books to go. If they ever come out, I would guess the story is going to be rushed as well, unless he keeps developing it on the same pace as the previous volumes, but that would probably mean he never finishes the series...

I really enjoyed the episode but I agree, there's characters that have been completely neglected, characters that felt important and played really good parts to the story but now they're pretty much dead as far as the plot goes. It was strange to introduce Euron in such a badass way only for him to disappear. Varys who was just as scheming as littlefinger mizewell be a statue in dragonstone. Bran, who is supposed to be the key to everything and beating the whitewalkers has just been pointless, ffs he hasn't even told anyone who Jon Snow is yet.

I'd love to know the reason why the writers have decided to rush the show all of a sudden, have they the passion!? They could have easily made this a 9 season series even 10.
The worst thing is, season 8 is only meant to be 6 episodes long so this is the direction it going to keep going in now.

Yeah this show has become anime levels of predictability. Normally there is no plot armor, aside for the big 3. Night King and Dragon was predictable, I wanted to see the dragon at least try to fight him. Obviously the leaders should die first and being a dragon means you have air advantage and can go straight for him, instead of burning fodder.I wanted a real fight only for the Night King to come out on top through some Night King power. Instead he just throws one tiny javelin and one shots him.

Would have liked more Theon in this season, why keep him alive if he does nothing for the most part. Next episode is going to have to try to tie up all the loose ends with unsullied, Greyjoys, and Bran.

The battle was great eye candy but didn't really make any sense.

Jorah: Lets take out the NK, the rest will fall.
Jon: We can't, we'd never make it.
Beric: Lets take out the NK, the rest will fall.
Jon: We can't, we'd never make it.
*Dany arrives with 3 dragons*
Jorah: Should we tell her to take out the NK so the rest will fall?
Jon: No, lets keep killing these minions and then flee on the dragon so we can show Cersei a zombie.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Outside of effects I tried to think of a single positive and...I got nothing. I was angry and bored for an hour. Characters interactions have nothing to them, it's all flat and forgettable. The whole get a with plot was dumb and now feels even dumber. I'll ignore Usain Gendry Bolt and Ravens with rocket boosts because who cares anymore. More offensive is the utter collapse of Arya. One of my absolute favorite is now just awful with character regression to petulence and immaturity.

2/10 - 2 points for dragons basically. Good thing Nights King has his Wights carrying massive heavy chains around just in case you need to pull a dragon out of water. Also I swear if this ends with the Night King dying and the whole army exploding it will be the biggest anti climax I can imagine.

Spot on.

Nothing is worse than coming to hate characters you love because writers have them behave like blithering idiots.

Great acting, great special effects. But it all goes to waste because of talentless writers butchering a once great story. Everything that is happening now makes no sense whatsoever, other than to rush the series to the end. Major characters just drop in and out of the story with no explanation, the rest of the characters just stopped developing entirely.

Still, it's Game of Thrones and a bad Game of Thrones is still awesome. The producers know this which is why they seem to have no trouble rushing it to move on to other projects. A real shame.
