Any 360 owner can watch 1080p movies over component, and all Premiums and Elites from the last year or so have had HDMI.

The movies on XBL are 720p AFAIK.  Not saying that it doesn't get upscaled to 1080p, but saying you can watch 1080p movies is like saying all XBox360/PS3 games are 720p.

component cant handle true 1080p as far as i know. some tv's from the time before HDMI they said could but the picture quality is no where near HDMI.

(Funny this thread no one called you a troll or fanboy)

You just had to tell me to do it didnt you

Some choice quotes from thread 1:

'I call for ban'

'seriously, do you work for microsoft? you're like a PR rep with this same crap over and over again.

just because you're butt hurt over the PS3 version being superior, doesn't mean you have to turn around and make everyone else butt hurt.

the classy thing to do would be going into your room and punching your pillow for a while. no need to place your anger on us.'

' I call for a ban too. Starcraft gets away with so much' (theres one from you)

From thread 2:

'you know that this thread wasn't a great idea, even for your standards starcraft.'

'It really makes me wonder... are trying to compensate for something?'

' But sadly xbox fanboy won't agree with you, hence them bashing you.'

Actually, you can get 1080p over both component and VGA if the TV can handle it and the cable is shorter than 2 meters/6 feet.

HDMI cable amnufactures touted the necessity of HDMI for 1080p as a means to make you buy more cables.

HDMI might not be the only cable that can transfer 1080p signal but it and fiber optic cables are the only ones which can handle 7.1 surround sound and above.

True but 7.1 is less common than 1080p TV sets. Rooms smaller than 200 sq are nor well suited for 7.1 especially if your space behind the listening point/speakers and the wall is minimal and most living rooms/bedrooms fall in that category.

7.1 is kinda like the same philosophy behind bigger TV's in that the distance from the TV to your viewing point plays a large role in determining the required screen size. If you sit close, a 1080p TV is pointless where as 720p TV is more sufficient.

This is the last comment I'm going to make to you. Then after that it will strictly be about this topic and I will ignore (because you'll probably just give me another excuse)

Those comments (i took out one.) I don't see a problem with (especially the bolded ones). Even then if they got all belligerent, vulgar, insulting, and threatening you should not respond to them. Two wrongs do not make a right. In fact I have gotten banned for someone doing all those things and me just responding to them. You're pretty much instigating when you respond and insult. That's exactly why I say you get away with a lot of shit. (btw twestern was not the only one who warned you. naznapits did too.)

Don't you guys know?
No one wants HD and no one can spot the difference anyway.

hmm...

haha good joke mummelmann... at least i hope you were joking or else you just made yourself look bad. usually people that have never seen HD or true HD (1080p) say things like that. i watch all my movies now on a 60 inch 1080p tv and it is ten times better than any movie i have watched off of cable. even if the movie is in 720 and surround sound, even my 50 year old dad can tell a huge difference!
