Forums - Nintendo - Tired of playing Nintendo's stock supply game? Try these! Update:

Aren´t all they videogames, one way or another?

Anyway... those retro consoles are cool but you still need the cartridges.... It would be a lot more expensive to find all those cartridges than just buying the SNES classic........

Or people could  just play on emulators.

snes mini will be super available!

Whatever you say Red Magnus...

Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-5643-2927-1984

Animal Crossing NH Dream Address: DA-1078-9916-3261

(thinks the SNES Classic is a ripoff at $80)

(posts a link to five alternatives, four of which are multi-cart reproduction consoles, and one of which an an atari flashback)

(fails to see the irony of posting $50-100+ consoles to play SNES cartridges that cost well over $500 to buy today)

hard pass.

Just emulate. The post-processing abilities that emulators offer make any other option inferior anyway, only playing the original console has merit.

Isn't this the same guy that made that "Why SNES classic is a rip off and why I don't recommend it" ?

Well I can definitely say your threads are .... consistent

You aren't quite catching my point. Yes, it would cost more, which was one of my points, but these are not a nightmare to find, plus you aren't limited to 21 games. Therefore, these are not ripoffs.

True, but you aren't limited to 21 games!

$500?! What cartridge is $500? Anyway, you are not limited to a mere 21 games for just one system. Plus these aren't a nightmare to find.

True, but some of us don't want to pirate/steal.

While I understand where you're coming from, it isn't like these games are in production. This impacts the creators in absolutely no way.

It still feels like stealing to me. What if you emulate a game that came to steam, or virtual console later? Then the game would be for sale but you would have a free copy.

You, but I like to do things legal.

How are emulators less legal than unofficial hardware that is nothing more than a plastic case with an emulator inside?

Imagine buying an unofficial console that plays Switch games.

Hmm... That is a tough one, but the cartridges you buy aren't emulated, but original.
