Forums - Gaming - Playstation YouTube is just using Xbox One X Anthem footage with Photoshopped button.

Didn't think it possible, but this somehow surpasses the GTA5 grass comparisons for the title of saddest moment of the 8th gen console war.

This happens a lot. MS used CoD IW PS4 ge play but blurred out the buttons last year.

XBOX ONE X is the most powerul console. No surprise companies would use it to show their game to look beautiful. The same thing probably happened when the PS4 pro released.

I think the real shock isn't the footage but the bad photoshop/editing skills of whoever did edit the trailer

As people said in the NeoGAF thread, this is a video sent by EA to the Playstation channel... Sony is just publishing the video on their channel.

I wonder what the deal is with that, do they pay Sony a certain amount for them to put it on their channel?

And you're watching the footage through a 20mbps representation of 4K on youtube, a compression rate of 300:1 from the original native 4K footage. Most likely chroma subsampled as the first step which removes most if any difference between checkerboard and native rendering anyway. Nvm this is polished alpha footage which will go through plenty refinements and possibly some downgrades before the final release.

They might have a point when it's a commercial for a game in stores and there's a gross misrepresentation on how it looks. Which will happen anyway, will commercials show both base and pro/X footage? Ofcourse tv commercials will be in 7 to 8 mbps 720p/1080i mpeg2, at least from my cable provider...

Yeah right, because it was the XbonX version that was shown, not just an xbox pad hooked up to a PC setting running a demo build.

Digital foundry analysed it and sayd it was running on the One X hardware. I am quite sure multiple sources included every game except the new Metro was running on a One X Console.

That's not what they said.

What they're basically saying is, it could be, because it could've looked better.

The Metro in game engine trailer was just that. Even Spencer mentioned it beforehand. The footage we saw will never make it into the acutal game. No matter what platform.
