And you're watching the footage through a 20mbps representation of 4K on youtube, a compression rate of 300:1 from the original native 4K footage. Most likely chroma subsampled as the first step which removes most if any difference between checkerboard and native rendering anyway. Nvm this is polished alpha footage which will go through plenty refinements and possibly some downgrades before the final release.
They might have a point when it's a commercial for a game in stores and there's a gross misrepresentation on how it looks. Which will happen anyway, will commercials show both base and pro/X footage? Ofcourse tv commercials will be in 7 to 8 mbps 720p/1080i mpeg2, at least from my cable provider...
