Nice! Bought it but haven't tried it yet. Can't say I'm a huge Sonic fan or anything, but it actually looks promising based on the previews.

Me neither.I actually never really liked Sonic.Mario games were always superior by far.But having played Freedom Planet and really enjoying that game, and since Freedom Planet is based on Sonic and Mania getting these great reviews, I decided to give it a try.Hopefully I get to play a bit more later today.

Hopefully a good sign for a 2017 release.  Also, dang, for a "lighter" tale as Takahashi kinda put it, that's an awfully high rating xD

Also, for those overly concerned about fanservice, the lack of mentioning of nudity in any capacity is at least encouraging :P

I have to admit, between this and the recent announcement that the music is not only all recorded but mixed as well, I'm starting to dare to hope that it might come out this year after all.

Yeah I think all those delays in the Wii U era have scarred me and made me afraid to ever trust a release window again.
