Couple more games from today's show Switchbound

Around the Network

Man, Sony just showed up Nintendo today! Mina, Darwin, 2D GoW, and 2D Castlevania?? Oomphf. Nintendo needs to respond with a solid Direct… and soon!

(Granted, almost all the big reveals I’m excited for are coming from third-party studios, not Sony… meaning I’m just thrilled to add a ton of new games to my Steam/Switch 2 library, and Sony managed to snag all these massive reveals.)

Really because I found that SOP was worse than the partner direct by quite a margin it actually nearly put me to sleep.

I did prefer it to the direct, but not by that much. Still wasn't great. Kena was definitely more interesting to me than anything else in the SoP or Direct. It had a lot more actual new game announcements though.

Speaking of Kena, I'd love to see the first game make the jump to Switch 2, seems like it would be right at home on Nintendo's platform.
Maybe the sequel as well if that's feasible, though it'd be a tougher port.

GameFreak needs to start pumping out some 2.5D Pokémon games. Not for the mainline entries, but to accompany remakes and Legends. That’d give them more time between mainline entries, as well as some potentially highly polished, small-scope Pokémon titles. An evolution on where the DS left off.

Green and Red are rumoured to have a 2.5D remake.

Finally they are remaking gen 1!

So you mean top down but in 3D graphics?

I believe that’s what that means. I’m thinking of something along the lines of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom/Link’s Awakening Remake but with an art-style closer to Sonic Superstars or Mario Wonder. (Or an anime art-style could look pretty!)

So we're just forgetting Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee?

Thank you, Captain Explosion. And I believe the future is very bright for DK. With a mainline 3D entry on track to hit upwards of 10mil (maybe even 20mil) LTD, and a heavily rumored film in the works, this ape has some great days ahead of him… well, I hope so at least. Nintendo can be a bit weird with their games at times.

That's putting it lightly. Just look at how they treated Star Fox after Star Fox 64. Krystal was once a budding protagonist, now she's been reduced to a sex symbol with a backstory that'll never be resolved. -_-

Eh, Krystal was always meant to be not much more than simple gooner bait.

I've not seen any rumours about a 2.5D gen1 remake myself, it wasn't on the leaked schedule either. The leaked schedule has codename Seed which is apparently a game that will be set across the first 4 regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh).

Sudachi is S/V
Ikkaku is Legends Z-A, and Sankaku is its DLC.
Gaia is Wind/Waves
Ringo is Legends 3
Seed is the multi-region game
Megaosis is pokopia
Megaturtle is pokemon home
Synapse is Pokemon Champions.

I imagine Seed is more a new game based in those 4 regions than a remake though. If they're still on schedule it should be entering full production this year, but Pokemon Legends Z-A, Pokopia and Pokemon Champions have all been delayed from when they were scheduled in this leak so...

MGS Master Collection Vol 1 update yesterday made it much better on SW2! You can increase it to 1080p instead of 720p now and it runs MGS2/MGS3 at 60fps.

Excited to pick this and vol2 up as I've barely touched this series of games.
