Treehouse Log detailing XB2's battle system

Sounds complicated on paper but hopefully it becomes intuitive once you get a feel for it in practice.

Swapping Blades seems similar switching weapons in X, only with far more customization since it's not always a ranged + a melee.  A lot of this seems derived from the same foundation as X.  It will probably be like X, which sounds really complicated but becomes second nature decently fast.

Playing Super Metroid on the SNES Mini, I feel like the game is either faster or has much shorter loading than when played on SNES or VC.

Just beat world 4 of Splatoon 2's campaign, and far out, that Octo Shower boss was freaking awesome, one of the best boss fights I've encountered in quite some time. The level design made good use of the wall climbing ability, it was never frustrating, but most importantly of all it was fun.

Yeah that boss is pretty amazing, but it's also as good as it gets in this game. Don't get your hopes up.

Funny so many complain about the last leg of the game but I found the campaign from start to finish to be better in every respect except the final boss.  And that's only really cause of the setup/design, the music is much better.  Level design is just a really big step up, imo.  The final boss is still good.

Yeah I have heard the final boss is not up to par with the first game's, which was, IMHO, amazing. My expectations are not super high, even a merely decent final boss would be fine. Unless the final world is super frustrating, I'm gonna say the campaign is better than the first game's, which I already liked a lot.

Btw, which weapon does the final boss fight make you use? Just so I know which one to upgrade? Or does it let you choose freely?

Splattershot

And then the Rainmaker.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Need to get back into Splatoon soon.

just finished Mario Rabbids.... and it was great.

Switch!!!

Stardew Valley has certainly scratched that Animal Crossing itch, perhaps too well! Much like AC, I'm having a hard time putting this game down, there's so much to work towards encouraging you to keep playing and making progress. Plus the game only saves at the end of the day, right before the start of a new day. What a devilish design choice, they know you're gonna wanna see what the new day holds! Oh and of course, the Switch's portability is a huge boon to this type of game, certainly helps with me not having to put it down, for better or for worse hehe.

So far my only issues with the game are a some minor technical hiccups, no doubt from the porting process. The biggest being the audio randomly becoming all staticy, though it seems that only happens in docked mode as I've not yet had it occur while in handheld mode.
