Forums - Sony Discussion - Should Sony give Sly a chance on the PS4?

Into the nexus isn't mainline really though, is it? More of a standalone spin off game. iirc, the main games consist of the OG Ps2 trilogy, the future trilogy on PS3 (into the nexus and all4one being spin offs) and now the reboot series on PS4.

But yes. A new sly game would be welcomed. They should shake up the franchise in some way though to try and appeal to the kids that bought into the games so long ago, who are adults now while retaining the set from the older games.

Into the Nexus is mainline. Same gameplay as the other mainline games, unlike the other spin offs (All 4 One, Qforce, Secret Agent Clank), and the story ties directly to the main story of the future trilogy.

I loved the trilogy, but got bored with 4 after a bit. Dunno if I was done with the series after 3, or 4 was lacking. I was looking forward to the movie, though.

Wow.... I've been living a lie the past few years. You're correct. Wikipedia calls it the 4th in the future series 😣 And I haven't played it because of that assumption. Is the game fully fledged? Story typical length to the others?

It is shorter than ACiT and ToD, but it's quite a bit longer than Quest for Booty (which literally is just like an afternoon lol). While Quest for Booty to me didn't really feel like a full game, Into the Nexus deffinitely did. I can't remember if Quest for Booty even had challenge mode lol (Nexus does ofcourse).

Anyway, considering it's only 10$ on PSN (or 20 if you want a physical copy), you should definitely buy it if you like the series.

Yes. BUT, only after a Spyro Trilogy Remake a la the Crash one.

Yeah, Sony is stupid.

Yup. I loved Sly 4, I don't know why Sony would burn bridges with Sanzaru, even if the game didn't sell too well, why would you reduce your options like that?

At the risk of derailing this thread, they've done this with a lot of studios. Sanzaru and Ready at Dawn are FAR from the only ones.

Sly 4 ended on a huge cliffhanger so I hope they continue it. Pretty dark way to end the series if it never returns.

TBH idk why they stopped making Jak and sly. They seem to have sold well :o. Maybe a time thing? they just didn't have the resources to make all of them? IDK

The reason they were sidelined is because Sony decided they were going to make naughty dog and Sucker Punch focus on other IPs. I am assuming because Ratchet & Clank was more successful as a whole then the other two is the reason they kept making those games.

Do you have a source for that?  At least about Naughty Dog, my understanding is that they made the decision themselves.  I know that cancelling the recent reboot was Naughty Dog's decision.

I would much rather see more inFAMOUS
