I agree, Nintendo has so many IPs and old games that are deserving of a Remake/Reboot that it'd be a waste of time to remake mainline Mario games, especially since they still hold up Gameplay-wise which is the most important thing for Mario games...

I don't think we could be classifying this as a remake. It's just a port with a few extras.

Can you imagine a 1st person Mario in VR (with the ability to pull the camera out at times). If VR sticks around or comes back later and Nintendo embraces it I would then be down with remakes with updated graphics. Otherwise the gameplay regardless of the graphics has always been solid enough to me that I wouldn't likely buy any remasters/remakes.

I agree with him, but I'd like to see at least Sunshine HD with at least Odyssey level graphics. It would be mindblowing.

I still hope we will see Mario Galaxy remasters.

I agree, Mario isn't a series that needs remakes. We get a lot of new Mario games at a steady pace and they usually age pretty well.

Mmm, Mario games have been remade several times (Super Mario Bros. All Stars, SMB DX, all the GBA remakes SM64 DS...

Few extras like 30 more stars, minigames, a vs mode, a new control scheme and a different graphic engine (with more polygons),  besides many more minor changes...

So he doesn't really wanna remake Mario games, but is okay with Zelda and Star Fox ones? Alright then Miyamoto... XD

Also, yeah, Mario is quite great in that his character is really flexible to different kinds of games.

Well, the original Star Fox has been remade 2 times already, with 64 and Zero. If you count the one for 3DS, that'd be 3.
