Forums - Sales - Can the Switch catch back up to the PS4 or did Nintendo kill the hype?

I think you are confusing a lack of supply for "killing the hype." While there are a few purchases that will probably never be made because of the shortages - the reality is that with Nintendo consoles, the appeal of them is so unique that the only choice you have if you want that experience is to buy the console. It doesn't matter if it's now or later, the hype hasn't died down. Most people will simply buy one when they can get one, and hell there's probably a lot of people that will buy the Switch the moment they see one just because it's so rare, no matter how much they actually want it.

But I don't think it will do what PS4 will do at the end of it's life, not because of shortages really ....

The thing sells out hours after restock, Mario Odyssey, Metroid Prime 4, Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2, core console pokemon coming...thats just some we know of.

Not including new Smash, Donkey Kong, new pikman, etc...

The hype for the Switch is no where near dead or even dying. It will def do at least PS360 if they keep the games coming, maybe more depending on upgrades.

this thread makes no sense, you acknowledge that supply issues exist then proceed to imply that the drop in weekly sales is due to lack of hype.

Remember when this thing was supposed to be dead on arrival? I'm still amazed it's been doing as well as it has.

It depends on the region. It's in stock on Nintendo's store in the UK and on Amazon and Walmart in Mexico. Let's not forget that it was on sales at EbGames Australia this past week.

I don't people said that because this is the 3DS successor afterall. A few people think this will outsell the Wii though.

Asking if the Switch can catch up to the PS4 is like asking if the Xbox 360 can catch up to the PS2. Different generations.

When PS5 launches, can it catch up to Switch?

This is a spurgeonryan thread, don't be so harsh.

I have yet to see a 299 switch! Shortage is fucking annoying... anyone has an idea where to get a switch for its msrp?

Let it catch up to the Wii U first. Try to beat Glass Joe first before you challenge Mike Tyson.

I don't see a problem, it's just asking if they can beat LT sales or keep up with weekly sales
