Forums - Nintendo - (Kickstarter) Bokube

I created this post on this sector, because the primary platform is for Switch.

I know, I know, everyone is tired of kickstarter's projects being delayed, cancelled, and so.

BUT, I think this project deserve sucess. He need a minimal target. (5k)

For anyone who liked Captain Toad....

Development Platforms:

If Bokube is funded at its $5,000 goal, the game will release on PC, Mac, Linux, and theNintendo Switch.

Initially the Nintendo Switch port was a stretch goal with other console development kits. I have now decided to focus development away from other consoles. (Xbox and PS4).

Development has been shifted and focused to be on PC/MAC/LINUX and the Nintendo Switch since there has been a ton of feedback from backers (and even potential backers) expressing their need to get the game on the Switch.

The new stakes are if the Kickstarter $5000 goal isn't met and the Kickstarter fails, not only could Bokube as a final product be heavily delayed but the Switch version of the game could be in jeopardy. If you'd like to see the game on the Nintendo Switch please consider helping the kickstarter get exposure! I can only do this with your help!

Inspired by games like "Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker" and "Sokoban," Bokube is a push block, light platformer, light action, perspective puzzle game. Every puzzle level introduces a new enemy, trap, or twist on the games core mechanics to keep levels fresh.

5k sounds like a really low goal. If that's all that's needed why do they need a kickstarter?

Yeah, it is pretty small, but isn't Kickstarter meant for products that are basically already finished, and just need to be mass produced? It seems like that barely happens nowadays, though.

"Currently, the game is about 40% complete (less if stretch goals are met) and I need a little help to cross the finish line.

Being the single developer on Bokube, I need the little amount to help with polishing the game. This Kickstarter campaign is made to commission freelancing help and I don't really expect to see any of the money for myself. All the funding on this project will go directly to the games code, further polish, development on mac and Linux, and the development of stretch goals! So even if the money does exceed the goal limit it will still all go straight to the development of stretch goals.

Working on all of the games art and design myself I actually don't need a ton of money, hence the low kickstarter goal amount. The majority of the funds will go to dev-kit purchasing for the Nintendo Switch and paying an affordable freelancer programmer I work with."

1) Captain Toad is awesome
2) 5k is barely anything.... to develope a game like this, is it enough? why isnt it over that already ; _ ;

hmm, I think it's more a fair amount of progress has been made, rather than basically already finished. Although in the case of games that are almost certainly going to be digital only releases mass production shouldn't be an issue

I would say that a fair amount of progress has been made in this case.

This game deserves it. Only asking for $5000, looks promising, and is coming on multiple platforms

Day one purchase

I can't be the only one that read the name of the game as bukkake can I?

What the fuck is wrong with me :(

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It looks like it was founded! Someone gave the remaining $ 1000!! I'm impressed!!!

Getting it now, because 10$ is better than 15$.

Just watched some footage on it, definitely looks like a game that will do well on an Nintendo console. 5k does seem like an odd kickstarter amount though xD

And also, the game looks more than only 40% complete :O
