Always outspoken Epic VP Mark Rein has piped up on the progress of Unreal Tournament III on Xbox 360, which he says will be making a playable appearance at the Midway Gamers Day later this month.

Speaking on the game's official forums, Rein said: "We don't have a particular release date yet but we're going to be playing it with some members of the press in two weeks at Midway's next Gamers Day in Las Vegas. Should be fun. The game is coming along really nicely."

There you are then. The Gears company previously said that Microsoft's stance on user-generated maps was holding back the 360 version, which still doesn't have a specific release date.

but id like to know how content will be added ie the mods.

all i can think of is either with market place which i doubt unless its official maps, or through a usb drive which would be the ideal option

Sales will probably be better than on the PS3 ... but that wont surprise anyone ...

Will it be worth the wait for 360 owners. I think it could be better as It may have some extra polish the ps3 version was lacking.

I just really hope that the 360 version gets the mod support :x I've been using my PS3 and my PSP to download mods directly off the PS3's browser xD (stupid that I can't save them directly to hard-drive... yet.) But man o' man do they make the game infinitely better! I had no idea how amazing some of the mods and mutators actually were :)
