Its not about "too good".  That's just good business.  Sony exists to create value for shareholders.  Not allowing cross-platform play is the right move in that context.

Its not about "too good".  That's just good business.  Sony exists to create value for shareholders.  Not allowing cross-platform play is the right move in that context.

I believe the developers of Rainaway confirmed that it's been approved for Switch or something along those lines, if my memory serves me well!

 

OT: I really like the pro-gamer attitude this guy has. That's certainly something that'll put you more in-favour with your consumers, which has its strong benefits.

It's obvious why Sony aren't doing crossplay, because they have the lead and the biggest and most active network of the 3. They still want to keep the whole 'my friends have a PS4 so I'm getting one' thing in tact as it's a major selling point for a console with so much momentum and positive mind share. It's not consumer friendly, but that's why they're doing it.

Sony only has the biggest single network. The others combined are/will be bigger so it's not a selling point for a game like Minecraft and won't be for other games in the future. Hopefully more 3rd parties support cross-play and prioritise updates/DLC for the biggest combined userbase.
