I love single player, but not necessary story based game.
the impression is that we have only 2 options: story or multiplayer. We can have single player without story too. And i think i like them more.

This is the main reason I'm slowly drifting away from PlayStation. Sony's focus on character, emotion, and storytelling is at an all-time high and my investment at an all-time low.

I'm glad there are folks out there whose needs are being met by Sony's current design philosophy. Diversity in the industry is a great thing, and not every platform needs to offer the same kinds of gaming experiences.

But, selfishly, I wish PlayStation would retreat from its cinematic ambitions.

Me too. My favorite PlayStation is the one that focused on stuff like Sly Cooper, Ratchet, Jak, "simple" God of War, Motorstorm, etc.

Never been too fond of stuff like Shadow of the Colossus, The Last of Us, etc. But yeah, it's good that they are filling this gap in the industry... their games are still good after all (and I'm looking forward to Spiderman myself).

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

There are single player experiences without much story on PS, just not the focus of their 1st party studios. LBP 3 wasn't so long ago, GT will come in a short time, etc.

Yes please. This is why Sony is my #1 choice every generation for 4 generations in a row Story variety... such an underrated aspect

Yep, I love it and PS have so much diversity that the ones that don't like it can choose from several Multiplats or even go for a different platform focused on what they like.

I hate the constant focus on multiplayer and online, I still much prefer single player and depth with decent size. Most online games are so similar and boring and the communities are often really bad. I'd be really happy if some publishers and developers revived the single player arena again. There have been some lately, but the truly great experiences and few and far in between for me.

The only MP I miss sometimes is local co-op, that basically only Nintendo kept supporting.

Yeah, I agree with that. So many modern games would be spectacular with coop play! This is such an underutilized feature. In the 90's and early 2000's, there were so many coop games. For me, I understand that the concept is somewhat dated but I still prefer it over online any day.

Just to speak

Single Player =/= Story driven

Some games sure is constructed in a way that SP is the only logical option, but so many of them would be very good to enjoy with a friend on couch
