Nintendo Switch 1080p @ 60FPS master race!!!!!!!!!!

Around the Network

4k isn't really everything. I'd rather stick with 1080p max settings while also getting 60fps+, maybe even 1440p and a setting or two reduced, but still keeping above 60.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Of course Phils going to say who cares about 60 frames. His selling a new machine that does 4k. If he was selling a machine that does 60 frames it would be reserved. Why ask a buisness man stupid questions when his always going to make his product look good to sell it.
Sad to say no one cared when X1 was pumping out 60 frame games. All the console gamers were discussing was resolution differences between PS4 and XB1.

People are forgetting this isnt a next gen console. If X1X achieves 60 frames for all games over the X1S than it throws off the Multiplayer balance. Resolution is an easier option without ruining the balance of gameplay to an unfair advantage.

I belive devs think the same way, but MS and sony are taking the flak. I cant say if sony got the same questioning as what phil is receiving now, but the x1x is just anounced so phil has to step up and deflect and not blame devs to not get ill will. I like what they have always said, its the devs choice. If people want more than that its not up to phil anymore.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

There are times I feel that he should not talk, this was one of those times.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

60fps is certainly higher than is really necessary unless you're playing VR, so I've never understood the obsession either.

That said, 30fps is often too little... once you get into the mid 40's there's really little to no effect on gameplay. The key is to have a consistent framerate, which is the most important factor imo.

I believe the eye can't even tell the difference between 60 fps and higher, if I was told correctly. And i'm sure resolutions won't be noticable in difference at some point either. Eventually, the only thing that will continue to matter is if your console play style and games (Nintendo's strong suits) are better than the competitors (Sony and Microsofts weak suit, who focus constantly and almost entirely on fps and resolution).

Yeah, sure... when Nintendo have a console that is about the same power and pushing 4k60fps Sony and MS will just disappear because no ones care about what they offer.

Not what I said. What I was implying is that at that point, Sony and Microsoft will HAVE to care about the fun factor alone, which will make them, their products, and their fans ultimately happier.

I mean, I understand what he's saying. A lot of people unfortunately don't seem to give a damn, I mean there's people that actually say "you can't tell difference between 30 and 60fps anyway." unironically, and all they're looking for is shiny visuals over frame-rate.

But that first line "Why do you care about 60fps?"....

Someone punch him in the face.

I'm one of those people. I have a hard time noticing 60 FPS and 30 FPS. I prefer graphics over FPS.

So we have quite a different understanding of words meaning.

And you also seems to infer that for some reason people that buy sony and ms HW and SW are unhappy and that their games are unfunny.

Did he just ask what frame rate Minecraft runs at? Does he really not know it's 60 fps?

And yes, even on Minecraft it makes a difference.

I still to this day can't differentiate between 60 fps and 30 fps. The only thing I can notice is if the framerate dips while I'm playing.
