Forums - Gaming - Suggestion for EA: let Obsidian make a Star Wars RPG

Like KOTOR in a modern coat, in the Frostbite engine, imagine how glorious it'll look. Forget Mass Effect Andromeda or Anthem, this is the next big thing. Considering Mass Effect is being shelved for now after the Andromeda fiasco and Anthem sounds more like a Destiny clone, there is room for a more traditional rpg set in the Star Wars universe, and who is better for the job than the masters of RPG, Obsidian.

It perplexes me that after so many years we still only got 1 shooter out of the EA-Disney deal. They're just leaving money on the table by not making a Star Wars RPG, that thing could be the next Skyrim. Who knows maybe Visceral's game is RPG, but considering their past, I guess that's gonna be more rpg lite, like Uncharted/AssCreed with some rpg elements.

yeah, I can't believe Star Wars has come back in a big way over the last few years and there is no word on a new proper KOTOR.

And Obsidian would be great for it, definitely prefer them to a Bioware RPG. I'm not hopeful though

agreed. the New Vegas formula meets Star Wars would be so killer : o

that said I really just want ANY big developer with some good IP to hire Obsidian to do an open world RPG. Obsidian is insanely good, it's just depressing that they've not been given more chances after knocking it out of the park with New Vegas. Truly one of the most immersive and choice driven open world sandbox games ever made. And nothing since has come close.

As it is I'm annoyed as hell with Bethesda for shitting it up with Fallout 4 (essentially just a shooter) and having a blind eye to Obs
