No your assuming that if Xbox was lead platform they wouldnt allow it this gen.

Just because it happen last gen doesnt make it automatically follow into next. If that was the case than PS4 would have cost the same as the PS3 and XB1 would still be bundled with Kinect. Industry changes all the time. No one cares about last gen and the egos. Thats just an excuse from gamers agasint the good will behind a company they dont like. 

But it DID follow into the next.  Microsoft was against cross-play this gen but suddenly changed their policy.  NOW it's "unhealthy."  Was it not unhealthy before?  

It sure as hell isn't "good will".  It's because NOW Microsoft can realize a benefit.

Good will? Grow up. Where was the good will when they refused 99% of PC gamers tehir games by not releasing on steam? Where was the good will when they failed to invest in certain projects and canceled them altogether? Or the good will by actually delivering a long list of exclusives like they promised every single year since the generation started?

There is no good will. There are only business decisions, and right now both MS and Sony made one.

This really isn't an issue, there are like 10 games that do cross play. It's not a big feature and the only reason people want it is to play CoD across PS4 and XBO to play with their mates who own different consoles. That isn't going to happen the way people think for various reasons. We as a community need to accept that and appreciate what cross platform play we do have.
