Steam offers it as more a remote streaming service but differs as you either need another PC that has the program installed (think using a HP laptop to play games that is on your $2k Deskop) or using Steam dedicated consoles (that hasn't sold well) You cannot use Steam to play on a tablet unlike Gamestream (Nvidia's streaming) that can play on tablet devices. |
They have the Steam Link box for $50 and that works with anything that has HDMI-in. If Windows PCs work then Windows tablets should work too. I thought their android/ios app did streaming too but it doesn't.
Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)
Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!
They could allow streaming from wii u to switch and vice versa so owners of both consoles could play either's games. Both are pretty similar in many ways and have tablet screens. So you could play your wii and wii u games on Switch anywhere in the house if the input lag wasn't too high. You could also play your switch games on another tv without needing an additional dock.
Absolutely no way Nintendo will allow you to play PC games through your Switch that will only happen if the Switch is hacked.

This is more of an peripheral than anything else. I don't imagine gamers are buying a Switch just so they can play a PC game on a smaller screen, lol. It's a nice commodity if you want but again, can't stream Switch games from PC on it so that's their main thing to be worried about...a Switch emulator...

Oh, I misunderstood.

no. They definitely shouldn't.
One of the most powerful things Nintendo gains from being a console manufacturer is controlling whats on the platform so they can schedule and emphasize certain releases.
The last thing Nintendo wants is an open door for people to be able to stream loads of games from their PC to the Switch. It would massively damage their ability to do keynote deals in the future with third party devs too, because generally when Nintendo does make a deal with one (say Capcom / Monster Hunter), they give them a good release window that's not TOO crowded.
The streaming from PC concept would only work if Nintendo highly limited WHICH games you could stream to the Switch, which would ultimately pretty much defeat the purpose as the whole joy of the concept is being able to play like your STEAM library on the go on the Switch.
The only way it would be killer is if it was not controlled by the big N and a free app/program to use as you please. But that will never happen so I think it's a terrible idea.
anyway it takes control out of Nintendo's hands as far as deciding what's available to their userbase
The Vita also has a "streaming tech" and it's not successful either.
A handheld gamer only (for now).

One of the first things I suggested. I remember rainway was working on some sort of a streaming thing
https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/rainway-pc-game-streaming-nintendo-switch-support/
But who knows if it will actually even get through. Native support should be better though since the Switch certainly has the tech. If Switch has PC game streaming at some point... All I can say is just... DAMNN
