FOR GODS SAKE PEOPLE! THE ATTACH RATES FOR THE 360, PS3 AND WII ARE THE SAME!!!!!!!!

That's not a fair comparison, because the 360 has a larger install base than the ps3 (~1.6:1), and a much larger library of games to choose from (well over 2:1). The fairest comparison to make would be between games released simultaneously on both platforms, the most recent being DMC4, Burnout Paradise, Army of Two, etc.


LOL... DMC is one of the cornerstone PS franchises... It should be outselling 360 at least 2:1, but barely is doing 1.13:1.

Burnout Paradise ... 360 = 581K, PS3 = 521K. Outsold PS3 1.1:1

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 ... 360 = 875K, PS3 = 299K. Outsold PS3 2.9:1

Army of Two ... 360 = 564K, PS3 = 384K. Outsold PS3 1.4:1

Dark Sector ... 360 = 80K, PS3 = 29K . Outsold PS3 2.75:1

Call of Duty 4 = 360 = 5.4M, PS3 = 2.7M. Outsold PS3 2:1

Rock Band ... 360 = 1.1M, PS3 = 436K. Outsold PS3 2.5:1

Turning Point ... 360 = 146K, PS3 = 86K. Outsold PS3 1.6:1

There are a few exceptions, but in general 360 titles sell better on 360 by a wide margin. Burnout Paradise and DMC4 are the only ones where it is really close.


My point was that ps3 sales aren't abnormally low compared to the 360, given the current install bases and selection of games.

Games - This is personal preference, but the PS3 seems to have at least one big game coming out for every genre. FPS (Res2, SOCOM, KZ2, Haze), Racing (GT5:P,MS2), Stealth (MGS4), RPG (WKS, VB, Disgaea 3), Platformer (LBP), Sandbox (Infamous), Sim (Afrika), Fighting (Tekken 6). Plus some other nice looking exclusives, such as; WarDevil, Heavy Rain, The Agency and Eight Days. I would take the PS3 any-day.

Sales - PS3 obviously.

 Dude with 7 Million more consoles the 360 is bound to outsell the PS3 , and the ratio of sales is in general similar to the install base ratios. The 360 in consistently being beat by the PS3 in hardware sales so it's only narutural that the ratio will change in favour of the PS3 increasingly as this year goes by.


Expect the software sales ratio 360:PS3 to be around 1.1:1-1.2:1 round christmas and then in '09 I expect the PS3 to consisetny outsell 360 on multiplatform titles.

What huge games has the PS3 got this year other than MGS4?

Obviously thats assuming FF and GT don't make it until 09.

Seeing as you have slagged off at least three people in this thread without any reasoning whatsoever, how about you give us a comprehensive breakdown of your opinion's founding?

List the 360's 'quantity and lack of quality' followed by the PS3's 'quality and lack of quantity' so that we can see where you are drawing your conclusions from.

I think Resistance 2 will be just about as big a game as Fable 2. This is based on the improvements they seem to be bringing to their series and the metacritic score of the first games.

madskillz, I might be able to agree with you except for the fact that PS3 owners buy more games than 360 owners. You don't believe me? Lets look at America (because the 360 has always been the most popular there) for last week.
The Xbox 360 has 11,377,532 consoles sold in NA and the PS3 has 4,466,281. 11,377,532/4,466,281 = 2.54742861 times as many consoles.
The Xbox 360 sold 1,138,997 units of software last week and the PS3 sold 547,336. 1,138,997/547,336 = 2.080983162 times as many software units.
With 2.547 times as many consoles in NA, the 360 sold 2.081 times as many software units. Thus, PS3 owners buy more games than 360 owners, leading us to the logical conclusion that most PS3 owners use their console primarily as a gaming machine.



Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
