thanks for the lists

but the 360's got a much more extensive exclusive list then i thought
doesn't look bad at all

Except for the fact that over 30+ of the games can be bought on PC?

So what's your point? Not everyone has a gaming PC and some people might just want a console instead. There are many console games that won't be on PC and it's kind of ridiculous to say "Well buy a PS3 AND a PC" when they might only want to spend under $400 to begin with.

You still can't just exclude a platform. Should a guy that owns only a Wii and a 40gb ps3 say "Well, Bully is Wii exclusive to ME, because I don't own a 360"?

I would have to say the Xbox360 has the better games lineup again this year. You can't doubt the bredth and depth of the games lineup. Furthermore the big games on the Xbox360 will outsell those on the PS3 this year.

Tease.

PS3 of course, i point and laugh at the delusional people wo think 360 will sell more. As for games well that is a matter of opinion.

 1) there will always people who pick one console over another. Some will pick PS3 version of a multi over 360, but it DIDN'T help the fact that other people won't, Multi kills sales on any one console than Exclusives.

 2) almost everyone has a PC, so it doesn't help 360 to have games there.

Frankly, 360 needs to have some exclusive-exclusive. If it wants a comeback this year.

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

KH3 bet: "If KH3 comes to Wii exclusive, I will take a 1 month of sig/avatar by otheres open a thread apologize and praise you guys' brilliance." http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?start=50&id=18379

According to pre-order rate in week 13 (post id: 2902544)

as far as exclusives, 360 has quantity, ps3 has quality

ps3 wins in sales and exclusives.

For RPGs its the 360's Too Human and Fable 2 vs. Valkyria Chronicles and FF XIII. If you are into trying new types of RPGs, 360 will be the place to get your fix. For tried and tested franchises, PS3.

Do you really think FF XIII will be released in North America and Europe this year?

I just went verbatum from Gamestop's web site... I am not confident given the release date track record on PS3 for many of the games.  But, I had to use something as a reference.

PS3 vs 360 in 08.

Top Game: RESISTANCE 2 vs GEARS 2

potential bomb-game: Too Human vs Haze.

Feel free to disagree with me.

MGS4 will be in a league of its own, like its always have been.

You act like that's a minus fo the 360, when in actuality it's a plus. The PC and 360 trade off many potential exclusives. Sure it is harder to define each platform, but all a gamer will see is more games to play on their platform. The point is that none of those games, whether being on the 360, PC, DS, PSP, Wii, Genesis, Atari 2600, or Amiga, are still not seeing the light of day on the PS3, and the only minus I see is for PS3 owners there. If tomorrow No More Heroes was revealed to be ported to the 360, sure you could say it's not an exclusive because the Wii has it, but the PS3 owner still isn't playing with Travis Touchdown. It's a loss of another game to PS3 owners. In a direct comparison of PS3 to 360, like this post is, it doesn't matter whether every 360 game is showing up on another platform as it's still not on the PS3. Who loses? The PS3 owner.

But even in a direct comparison, you have to look at each side from a real world perspective. You can't ignore the fact that these other platforms do exist.

After all, why does it matter which console has the best games? Because good games lead to higher sales. When people go into a store to try and decide whether to buy a ps3 or a 360, they're not going to ignore the other platforms that they already own when comparing them to each other.

PS3 will outsell the 360 ww for sure. In the Americas, it will be quite close. I think 360 will sell more games than PS3 for 2 reasons. First, there is a larger userbase. Second, 100% of the people who buy a 360 buy it for the games while there is a fraction of PS3 owners that owns it only for Blu-Ray.

As for which console has better games, I would say that 360 line-up seems more diversified than that of PS3 but it's really not possible to say in advance which system will have the better games.

I do believe the PS3 will outsell the 360 this year, but not for gaming. Folks will buy it for the Blu Ray aspect. Yeah, a few will buy it for playing games, but continue to watch the attach rates. If folks are buying a PS3 and not games, guess what? We still lose. Folks were waiting for the end of this format battle - Blu won. Now, folks are looking at what Blu Ray players can do and realize the PS3 is, by far, the best one on the market and the best value. True, the GT5 demo is sweet, but most folks are buying it to play their Blu movies and not games.
