It still has a ways to go before launch, so the resolution may go up. But that's not super impressive so far.

Now, obviously a first party title is going to get more polish than a multiplatform game. But that's the same resolution and frame rate as Horizon on the Pro.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Madden will be native 4K on PS4 Pro too, same as FIFA 17 last year.

Destiny 2 won't be native 4K on PS4 Pro, but it's $100 cheaper.

Yeah, but you'll have the inferior version of the game and the inferior online network. Not to mention, the sports games will probably have better textures on xbox one x.



Teams will get better with the hardware as time goes on. These are launch games for the 1X. Right?



Ow, I thought checkerboard rendering was a technology exclusive to Playstation.



Was ported in a week so I'm impressed it running on PC high settings. Cant wait to see what the game will be like at launch.

How do you know that? It could probably easily detect the actual resolution of the console and change the game's internal resolution accordingly. Of course the simplest solution is probably to always render the game in the same resolution, but detecting the console's resolution and changing the game's resolution accordingly shouldn't be too difficult either.

Because it's how the Xbox 360 and Xbox One work.

So you're saying a game can't adjust its internal resolution based on the console's actual resolution?

That's not what I am saying at all.

Just the precedent hasn't been set for it. And that is not the message Microsoft is portraying with it's supersampling.

So that's not how the Xbox consoles work then, which is what you claimed. It's just the way games have worked so far in practice (which of course makes it a reasonable assumption that the same is going to hold true for future games as well).

Show me someone who said that. A 900p 30FPS games was NEVER supposed to run at 4k 60FPS. Microsoft didn't make that claim either. They said they tried to get your typical 900p game to 4k without reducing the framerate.
So 900p 30 FPS -> 4k 30 FPS
900p 60 FPS -> 4k 60 FPS

Maybe not many people said the 60fps part, but I do remember many discussions where Ryzen was expected so 60fps was expected.

True 4K should come with an asterisk. Something they chose to say differently on purpose. Just like the "exclusive" announcer.
