To be fair; I've had fairly realistic predictions and expectations of it so far and from the beginning. Most pro-Sony users have been way too confident every year. I've been shooting down "20 million sales this year for sure!" and "The new PS2!" threads for years and I've still been right, with good margins at that. Even if I've been wrong about yoy decline for 2017 (should that come to pass, year still isn't over), I've been a lot closer overall than most of you throughout the gen as it unfolded and I believe I stand among the best of them when it comes to general observations and predictions for the overall market in the 8th gen, and from a very early point at that.

In short; I may have underestimated the PS4 for 2017, but so many have grossly overestimated it time and time again.

As i said before, only Ps2 will stop this beast, Wii will be dead soon and Ps4 legs woll keep it going along 3rd party and 1st party support.

Hopefully they will release one single PS4 upgrade next-year ie. what the PS4 Neo should've been alongside a new PSVR, and hopefully backward compatibility and then you can be sure they'll reach 100mil faster than you'd know.

it is up 1 million and some over 2016 sales for the same period online warrior.

What?! Exclusives don't mean anything. Most gamers only play multiplats. And look at those shitty 8s.  PS4 is selling on hype still.

Even by meeting the 18 million forecast for the FY, the PS4 would still be ahead of the PS2.

At this pace though, I can see the PS4 doing Wii-level numbers. Amazing.

Yes it will... if the PS4 reaches it's 78 million shipped forecast, by the same time frame PS2 will be at 71 million.

I could be wrong but I feel like during the years 2013-2015 you didn't give ps4 much chance of hitting 100m. Very few Sony fans actually said it would beat ps2 but lots said 100m+. I'm personally in the ~120m camp.  And that's nowhere near the beastly ps2.
