Forums - Nintendo - Since MH3 is on the Wii...will MHF3 be on the DS?

Capcom could make a monster hunter on the and will dumbed down or slightly different type of style aka umbrella chronicles. It is call milking a franchise and they do it well.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

i dont think that mhf3 will be on the ds.they can make a monster hunter on the ds but not a sequel to monster hunter freedom 2.ds may have more sales than psp but look at games like fifa or pro evo had they any success on the ds?? no because they are games that require high 3d graphics which isnt where ds strong point is!

The DS was able to produce this (sorta low quality):

That seems good enough for MH. Now space is the only problem so like I siad they can ask for a bigger cartridge exclusively.

The DS is just as powerful as the N64, and the psp is more powerful than the ps2.

The DS cannot run Monster hunter Freedom(psp), its to much that it can handle, the game looks exactly like the ps2 monster hunters.

This is ridiculous. If a game like Ninja Gaiden can be done on the DS, then why can't Monster Hunter be done on the DS?

Let me sum up your problems:

Problem: DS has teh graphicz who suckzorzzz
Answer: Easy. Just lower the graphics levels. I'm sure we can all agree that gameplay can be nice with lesser graphics, as long as the gameplay is recreated, instead of just dumbed down. Look at Zelda: PH. Is it as pretty as tWW, which was on a superior platform? No, but it has at least as solid basic gameplay. Why? Because the game was DESIGNED FOR the DS, from the beginning.

Problem: DS has teh cartridgezzzz it cants put all Monster Hunter love on therezz
Answer: See the answer to the previous question. To make the game LITERALLY fit on DS, make sure it's gameplay fits DS.

Problem: teh controlz of DS suckz touchscreen doesznt work cuz PSP rullllez
Answer: in essence I can give you exactly the same answer as before: DS'ify the gameplay. The controls will be touch-oriented, and thus play fine.

Problem: Hardcore doesn't sell on DS if it's third-party
Answer: Even if Monster Hunter has a attach rate half of what it has on PSP, it still sells as good on DS, maybe even better. The DS has sold so many units now in Japan, everything sells.

I'm sure if Capcom makes a good try, the game can be done on DS. But not in it's current form, no.

I just want you guys to know, saying, "This game can't be done on this system because of graphics or control" is just not true, and its childish.

Any game can be made on any system, and it can be made to be a AAA title. Just because in your 10 minutes of thinking about it, you can't come up with a way for it to work and be amazing, doesn't mean a talented developer can't.

If a game sucks because of the system its on, it's because the developer screwed up or was lazy. Not because they "system wasn't capable."

Crysis could be done on the DS and be a better game than it was on PC, if the developer designed it better. Graphics don't make a game. Design, development, innovation, artstyle.

"There aren't enough buttons?"

Really, well there is a touchscreen.

I don't think MH3F would come to DS and I honestly don't care. I've never played MH and I don't have to, to tell you that your arguments about why it won't come to the DS are wrong and silly.

If it doesn't come to the DS, it's because Capcom wants it on the PSP for whatever reason they decide. If they think it'll make more profit on the DS, then I got news for you. Capcom destroyed Clover studios for profit.

If you think the game would suck for the DS, then you obviously have no idea what your talking about, because its a fictional game that you've never played, and it could in fact be better than the PSP version, or it could be worse. It certainly won't be ruined because it doesn't use an analog stick or because the DS doesn't have enough buttons.

Cartridge limitations are a legitimate concern, however again, some amazing games have been fit into those cartridges, including Elite Beat Agents and an upcoming Guitar Hero game. If cartridge limitations and DLC could hinder the DS version, then you might have a legitimate talking point, however, that other stuff, is bullcrap.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Sony would have to pay out some major cash to keep it PSP exclusive in my opinion, but who knows.

Care to elaborate?

Now Sony is paying for PSP exclusives?  O_o

Sony doesnt usually pay 3 rd parties to develop on there platform, besides monster hunter sells like hot cakes on the psp, why would they leave the psp?

Again.

People. Go and play the flipping game. Then once you play it, TRY to imagine it on the DS.

Once you guys sink some hours into the PSP version, you will see how it can barely handle it control wise, and even datawise, on the UMD.

They could put MHF on the DS, but it'd be much like the Ninja Gaiden game. Dumbed-down.

And I don't care if it does or not go to the DS, as there's so much to do in MHF games, and the downloadable quests will keep me busy for years to come, what I do care is that before, no one gave two shits about this game [except PSP fans], but now, everyone is trying to claim that it can be done on the DS, and it'd sell better, etc., and the people claiming it haven't even played the game. That's what I do care about, MH is now the center of attention, because it's so popular, but rewind back two years when the first Monster Hunter Freedom came out, no one cared.

i agree with you, any game can be done with any systems, but the point is why would Capcom bring it to the DS when this game is the psp biggest game. This tread was about hopeful wishing more than a rumour. Im sorry, i'll be shock if it ever happen.

Also, if popularity and sales were the case, why wouldn't they have put the original MHF on the DS? I mean, the DS has been winning Japan since it came out. And when MHF2 came out, why didn't that come out on the DS? I mean, the DS was still smoking the PSP in Japan. And now MHF2G came out. Why isn't that on the DS? The DS still has a ten million unit lead over the PSP in Japan.

The factor is, that this game isn't coming to the DS. Period. If it didn't come when the DS was whipping the PSPs ass, then why would it come now that the PSP is selling on par, and better than the DS most weeks [in Japan] since the remodel. It just makes no sense to move platforms at this point in time.

It will depend and since psp has been doing much better worldwide since the DS has hit its cap in Japan, the likelyhood of the DS getting it isnt as great.
