Forums - Gaming - Time For MS To Back Nintendo And Let Them Run The XBox Line

This idea is so anti-gamer that i can't even find a logical response..

Honestly the only use nintnedo would have for the Xbox line would be the multiplat popularity. Nintnedo is also fixated on fun, profitability and creativity. Microsoft ips would cost too much to make opposed to the profit they would expect.

Really? I think that any potential ruination would be flowing in the opposite direction. Fair play to your opinion tho.

Did you see how Nintendo is handling Online play and voice chat on the switch? You have to have an external plug and plug on part into it for voice and another part to another area to hear others. Lobbies are also all done the through the mobile app. IMO xbox live is the best network out there and Nintendo has no clue on how to have proper online functions so that's why I think they could ruin it.

My bad for lack of reading comprehension. Yeah, of couse XBL is better than the route Nintendo is taking, but MS would not suddenly choose to adopt that mess of a setup if this hypothetical partnership became a reality. I was thinking in broader terms. Things seem to go south with their partners in the gaming realm more often than they do when Nintendo or Sony are the partner.

Why would Nintendo want to have to support an Xbox, along with what they already have? It seems like it'd offer them almost no benefits at all.

They would be supporting the best box.

Nostalgia, i.e. to relive the Wii U days.

Or maybe the GameCube days? Who knows.

XBox One will still sell 50 million units or so, comparing it to the Wii U or GameCube is laughable.

It'll be easier for MS to just buy Nintendo.

as far as gaming goes and/or a video game console- the name 'Nintendo' on the system is massively more valuable than 'Xbox'. Your suggestion is silly because it doesn't really help Nintendo nor does it really help Microsoft.

Microsoft generally bleeds money with their gaming division and they don't have a realistic chance to dominate the market due to a lack of great 1st party IPs and teams.

There is no scenario where Nintendo does an agreement with Microsoft under a unified platform or 'xbox' name where they share revenue, no chance. Strange thread.

yeah, 'easy', when Nintendo as a company probably has currently has like a market value trading price point of 60  billion or something like that (premium companies generally are acquired for more than their market cap when intellectual property is considered).

It would be way too costly of a move to consider.

Not to mention Japan basically bars foreign companies from doing this to large companies native to them. Sometimes small ones they let by, but something like Nintendo would be regulartory blocked like hell
