This. It's refreshing to have a dev basically be honest about the fact that their publisher flat out doesn't want to support a console instead of citing the 'technical reasons' excuse.

Well, technically they didn't lose anything since they don't have to waste money and resources by desperately trying to make it run on Switch.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Bethesda is coming already. And Capcom too. Western mainstream third party games will not come, but that's why people buy their Xbox and PS for, anyway. Imagine a world where every game except for Sony's and MS's first party games came to a Nintendo console. Who would need the rest anymore? Those games aren't even expected on the Switch in the first place. |
With Skyrim? That doesn't count. I'm stating if any of the games they show at E3 has a chance of getting a Switch release- which is highly unlikely. Bethesda aren't really "coming".
Capcom? Yeah with MH and Street Fighter, I already know. I'm specifically talking about Resident Evil coming though, since that's their biggest franchise.
What do you mean who would need the rest? The PS4 has better exclusives than the Switch does, or the Wii U ever did. There's no reason for an Xbox One, but even if all the third party games came to the Switch, there would still be a reason to buy a PS4. I doubt you read my comment properly either, since I hoped "HALF" of those multiplats coming at least, since the Switch is perfectly capable of handling them. I never said ALL. That's impossible, the Switch can't run everything, even with extreme optimization; but it can still handle a lot.
You're misinterpreting the market, as well. Nintendo are a company, striving to be the most profitable. They don't "care" if they provide a gaming experience that obsoletes other consoles. Who cares if there were no reason to own a PS4/Xbox One if Nintendo got all multiplats...anyway? It's not impeding anything other than competition- but from a business perspective, they'd gladly take that monopoly.

Look, both of us agree that these mainstream games won't come to the system. That's cool. I was asking just a hypothetical question, there was no need to answer since it is completely unrealistic and even harmful for the industry. Monopolies always suck. And of course there are personal preferences like yours, too. Whether you don't want to count Skyrim, Monster Hunter or Street Fighter is up to you.
That seems to be the motif as of late. Nintendo will be fine, they have their own set of franchises that can run Switch just like DS, Wii, Wii U , 3DS. I'm not worried really.
The game would have to be downgraded and probably not worth the time or effort so not really surprising..

Well, I'd be very surprised if this actually did release. I just don't see it happening.
