A company is a company. Heck, if EA wanted, they can ignore the Switch if it sold 1 billion units. Their loss I suppose

From NeoGaf user dark10x: Played it briefly myself. A step down from the other version but it looks quite good on the Switch itself. 60fps during gameplay and 30 during cuts and other angles (as usual I suppose). Character models are decent but look kinda dated. I think folks will be generally happy with the visual aspect at least. 60 fps gameplay, not bad. |
60 fps and acceptable graphics
I could care less if I don't see every drip of sweat or whatever extra details the other versions have. I'm sure many people will appreciate the portability
It looks a whole lot better than I was expecting. I might actually pick this up. Been a while since I owned a sports title.

It has been rumored or suggested before that they are contractually required to support all major consoles. And that a game bombing allows them to justify dropping that console to FIFA.

Man, between the womens championship, the brazilian, the euro, the countries for the World Cup... how much work they put in this game? It is like they render thousands of players.
I think it is super boring though. Soccer on NES was way more fun than these modern soccer games.
FIFA actually seems like an odd fit for the Switch. It's only a really big seller in Europe, which so far is the Switch's weakest market. I wonder if it will have a positive impact on Switch sales in Europe, or if instead it will be dragged down by the Switch's lower performance there (compared to NA and JP).
This got me curious about FIFA on 3DS. I didn't realize the 3DS had gotten four FIFA games. Strangely, we don't have Japanese sales for any of them -- did they not release in Japan at all?

FIFA sells pretty big in the US too.
.....Well now we just need E.A to not require 3 million sold Week 1 to keep support and this could actually have a good ending for Nintendo fans.
The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Like 70-80% of its sales come from Europe. Sure it sells well in the US but it's not a mega hit there as it is in Europe. Last year it was the #1 game in Europe while in America it didn't make the top 10. Madden doubled its sales in the US.
