Forums - Sony Discussion - Has Sony Ever Canceled So Many Exclusive Games Like Microsoft Has

Couple of words on Nintendo: I've known Nintendo to show game concepts at E3 with stated intentions of a game release and then never release them. Also they have had rumored games, not officially announced, known to be in development to almost completion that never saw the light of day, sometimes to appear in pieces of other titles or show it's face years later in an unofficial manner. I think Nintendo's reveals are held with great secrecy and professionalism. They do not "officially" reveal a title unless it is almost ready for release. They evaluate each title to ensure that it is not better suited for the next platform before making a decision. Nintendo, while not consistent in every area, at least has a good amount of control over their resources and decisions.

Sony is similar, but I do know there has been a couple of instances where they straight out canceled an expected title. Cannot recall names at the moment. It is rare though.

Sony cancels lots of projects, most of them are unknown/unannounced, but particularly towards the PS3 release they announced a lot of early projects that were scrapped pretty quickly after

it's rare for Sony to show off projects for years and then cancel them like MS did with Scalebound/Fable Legends

Yes.

Probably, but their production is higher.

The PS5 Exists.

Does Microsoft cancel that many games? Can't really think of that many, can't really think of that many Sony or Nintendo games either. Usually canceled games aren't very high profile, scalebound is the most high profile game I can think of and it did not look very fun...

Earthbound 64 T-T

Nope they will just be stuck in dev hell for an entire gen like the last guardian or Until Dawn ;). Although Agent is probably cancelled also Deep Down.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
