You can always use cinema mode for that, but still a package with new tracks, 3D support and VR support is something I would like to see as well.
I already have cinema mode through my projector :) It's nothing like VR though, 3D alone doesn't work either, headtracking to look into corners makes the experience. This is how you take a corner in VR That would work great with wipeout too so you can feel the ship drifting. Drifting is so much easier in VR in DrievClub and wipeout is essentially all about drifting through corners, except with air brakes.
In first person it defenitly has advantages, but what advantages does VR have in 3rd person mode. Anyway I would like to see a cockpit mode with VR nonetheless.

It feels life like mang, had to look twice to see it was game footage, almost look like driver wears a Gopro. Imagine the stuff we could be seeing next gen.

VR has many advantages in 3rd person too. When I had my DK2 I tried many different demos. The 3rd person ones make you feel like you're a spectator in the game world, as if you're in a stage play, things seem to unfold right in front of you. It's something that has to be seen. Think of any 3rd person application and it could work in VR. Think of a RPG or Soulsborne game like this but 100x more polished

As long as the camera is tied to the vehicle you get most of the advantages of a first person mode. You can still look into corners while keeping an eye on the attitude of the vehicle below you, and you still feel the drift as the camera moves sideways with the vehicle. 3rd person might be more comfortable without the screen tilting in corners, but sitting in a cockpit also helps with comfort.
For other genres third person offers many advantages. In RTS for example Tethered you have a much better overview of the different battles going on and you can select units by simply looking at them. Tethered lets you switch to different viepoints from which you can survey the battlefield.
In puzzle adventure games like Wayward sky you can direct the characters around the screen by looking and pointing where they need to go or perform actions with the controller. As well as you can look behind and under things to find hidden objects. The same works for platformers like Mervils and Robo Escape (in Playroom). You have a much better sense of where everything is. It's all playing out right in front and around you as if you're leaning over a giant model or sit right in it.
This is not the best game running in 4K. Redout on PC is a better looking anti-grav racer.
Redout looks amazing, been looking out for it since it was on greenlight. Can't wait to play it in 4K on PS4 Pro.
Another game I've been looking forward to for years when it was on greenlight was Formula Fusion, but unfortunately the Steam scores are mixed. I think they said it was coming to PS4 at some point but I might buy it in the summer sale, so I can have WipEout, Redout and Formula Fusion to play all summer!
