Found this beauty on Neogaf:

How would they do that? Does the game have a cockpit view?

Decent graphics? Playing it on 1080p on pro and its actually one of the most impressive graphical showcases for this gen or console's + 100% rock solid 60fps even on split screen with 8 fighters on screen( 16 max split)
Calling it decent would be..how do you say it...uh not cool.

It was meant as a joke post regarding pc elitist which day the PS4 pro can't do 4k. Or for the gamers who claim only Scorpio can do true 4k. It actually can even in visual demanding games like Wipeout. Antigravity racers have always looked stunning and this one is no exception. Especially HDR is a great addition for this type of games. I remember the first time I started up Wipeout HD and was amazed by how it looked. I think I will also be amazed when I revisit this game.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Track mania, Polybius and Thumper don't have a cockpit view either. They could at least do the 3rd person mode in VR which is more comfortable anyway. Yet I would easily pay $40 for DLC that adds a cockpit view and modeled interiors. I would to see some futuristic wipeout dashboards.

I get a headache just thinking about 3rd person VR.

Have you tried it? It works just as well as first person, sometimes even better. It depends on the game, wipeout should work well either way. What doesn't work is the one track in trackmania where you control the car from a stationary camera, at least not for me. I never had any rc cars to practice that kind of driving.

You can always use cinema mode for that, but still a package with new tracks, 3D support and VR support is something I would like to see as well.

I already have cinema mode through my projector :) It's nothing like VR though, 3D alone doesn't work either, headtracking to look into corners makes the experience. This is how you take a corner in VR
That would work great with wipeout too so you can feel the ship drifting. Drifting is so much easier in VR in DrievClub and wipeout is essentially all about drifting through corners, except with air brakes.
