Perhaps I didn't want to comment entirely within the context of the op. I'm not very familiar with how awards work with that event, so I commented in general. I don't know if something is nominated along with other things then one is chosen for an award or something is just picked out of everything that fits the category.  

I think the game is stupid and it shouldn't be up for that award because it's not a film and it's likely not short. it's definitely not a short film. Even calling it animated is a stretch considering what is usually referred to as animated. It should't be up for any award.

Gamers bitch no more than normal people. Probably even less. Only a fraction of gamers take the time to complain, debate or throw a fit on social media/forums. More often than not, they're justified in complaining about something related to gaming. Think what you want on that though.

Never heard of this game. The gameplay looks interesting.

This doesn't make sense to me. FIlm and Videogames are completely different mediums, and are judged by mostly different criteria. It would make more sense to nominate a TV show for an oscar, but that has never happened as far as I know.

Neat that this is happening, but the game itself looks pretty uninteresting :/
