The shortages stuff is starting to sound like an excuse. When they win a month it's "wow they did it with shortages". Lose a month and it's "but they had shortages". Yet they have a big projection

It's the same caveat both times.
hopefully Nintendo's Switch stock shortages sort them out by now or July. If not by July that will be mega concerning and there will be a gigantic build of demand with Splatoon coming out.
also to some comments; shortages aren't an excuse OR justification really- it's just reality. The system has not had enough supply to cover demand since launch, nothing ever changed.

Next month will be close also, PS4 seems to have been boosted a bit by the limited Gold edition console, and I don't think ARMS will push hardware at all also, Ubisoft seem to be having a real good year so far |
you can walk into a store and buy a PS4. you can go online to Amazon and buy a PS4.
you can do neither the majority of the time (online or in person) anywhere in the USA or Japan at the moment for the Switch. I think it's fairly obvious if all things were equal in terms of supply in the marketplace the Switch would clearly be vastly ahead in May

Because they plan to ship 10 million. If it sells out completely (like it is doing), they should sell 10 million.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I don't think Nintendo has ever really suffered long term with short term supply problems for very popular hardware. They could try to manage supply and demand better, but they will still sell a crap tonne of Switches over the next 3-5 years.

Are those statements really wrong though? The fact is that Nintendo is having shortage issues whether they ship enough to beat PS4 or not.

Well if Daniel Ahmad's statements are to be believed, Nintendo is indeed having issues getting components for Switch production leading to shortages.

So ps4 has won 3 NPD's this year and Switch 2 correct?
