Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Call of Duty Coming To Nintendo Switch

Wasn't COD releasing on Nintendo pretty standard until... well... ya know... the Wii U?

So if anything I'd be more surprised if it doesn't release on Switch.

It was standard for Treyarch games. Modern Warfare was only ported 2 years after PS3/360 release. And all of these Wii games were very inferior because they looked like crap. The only good thing about them was that they supported motion controls which added some new experience which wasn't present in PS3/360 versions. Wii U got Black Ops 2 and Ghosts but these ports were awful and ran 30 FPS if I'm not mistaken which is not great for First Person Shooter games. Ghosts flopped really hard on Wii U selling 350k according to VGChartz and considering that Wii U development was hard due to its architecture no wonder that Activision decided not to develop future games for Nintendo platforms.

So gfx running within a system capabilities make the gae inferior to another sytem now?

The motion controls on the WIi version more than mae up for it comapred to the PS360 version. I know because i bought all three as all my friends had different console and by far spent the most time on the Wii version.

As long as the game has all the gaming elements the gx don't matter too much.

Older port for $30 or less please.

I honestly think that a port would sell better than any Wii U CoD game.
Still, to actually penetrate the market and gain fans on Switch, i think the best chance would be a game that doesn't compete with PS4 and XB1's versions.

I always wanted to see a Modern Warfare trilogy on Switch.
The first 2 games are stil highly praised and would surely make people consider buying a Switch for the trilogy alone.

I think so too.  Because of its portability factor and portable multiplay, the Switch is probably going to be the first console since the SNES that isn't overly populated with people who will only buy Nintendo games, Nintendo-like games or casual games.

Makes sense as previous CODs were pushed (even late in a couple cases) to launch on Wii and WiiU. Switch is more popular than WiiU, like Wii, and has the benefit of new ways to play with portability. Should be no reason they can't add support to their tooling. Bigger cost now for bigger returns on every future iteration of the series... plus other games that utilize the same engine.

Why not all of them? Or at least a bunch? Think about it, it would be genious: like MW2, World at War, Infinity, Ghosts, all on the go. It would be crazy.

But probably a port of the new game, which is probably easy to do, since CofD always use outdated engines.

Because releasing a whole bunch of CoD games in a short span doesn't sound like a good decision to me,

Just trust me, how many billion dollar companies have I driven into bankrupcy? How many? Exactly, none yet!

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Well Wii U had 2 CoD games, Wii had 5 CoD games. So yes, it wouldn't be big surprise if Switch receives some CoD games.
