Forums - Gaming - DF vs Tekken 7: 720p on Xbone, 864p on PS4

Am I the only one that doesn't like this game's gritty art-style? Many of the character designs also look off-putting and silly, it's a clash of different styles really. I genuinely think this game looks uglier than Arms and that's fully 3D and runs at 1080p 60 fps.

And 40 seconds loading times is a big no no for me. I'd skip the Xbox One version until that gets patched.

Yes there does seem a lot of additional fine texturing which doesn't really add to the game style. I'd be happier I think with more basic Arms style graphics which if anything is more appealling. The actual core gameplay of Tekken 7 looks like it could run on practically anything be it 3ds, vita, android phone etc. Whatever it should be 1080p 60fps on both xbox one and ps4 and the graphics detail should be scaled accordingly rather than drop resolution to match the pc visuals.

only 1080p on ps4 pro? shame.

Will there be a switch version? I'd love to play tekken on the go.

I guess this is the big question for every AAA game  in the next year or two

Seeing how well Unreal engine supports the Switch it might actully scale pretty favorably. Although it would definitively run sub 720p in portable mode and have more visual cutbacks than the Xbox One version.

If Switch owners are lucky they will get a port... of Tekken Advance via Virtual Console.

Switch owners will have SSB, they're going to be ok.

What i dont get is why would they choose a stupid resolution number like 864p when they could mirror the XBO resolution and use the extra resources for better effects? Who tells companies to do this? Tekken 7 on PS4 could destroy the XBO version if only they opted for the same res options. Instead for most of the generation lets just take the short cut and raise the res to a unique figure thats not that much better then 720p. Devs should stick to the 720p, 900p, 1080p and 4k options (except for PC) and use what ever resources they have left on framerate, effects and other bells and whistles.

True, yet 1536x864 is a 1.44x increase, pretty close to a 1.4x increase in gpu.

44% increase to be exact. :P

Or they could have used frame reconstruction or checkerboarding and utilised a few 720P frames to simulate a higher resolution.

I really wanted KI in the first 2 years. But I just don't like the characters that Iron Galaxy have been making since they took over. I liked what they did for season 2 but after that it kind of killed my interest.

I don't mind the new characters. And I actually liked the crossover with Microsoft's other franchises like Halo, Gears and Battletoads.
Plus they bundled Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2 as well... Constantly patched and refined the game.

The main criticism on it's release was it's "lack of content". That's been well and truly resolved now.

Guilty Gear XRD is on Xbox one?

Never heard of it.

At least it runs 60fps. Am I the only person who feels the sting of how real 864p's diminishing returns are?

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

Initially I was surprised how decent 864p looked on my 4k...but then realized my Pro kicks it up to 1080p. Will have to install it on my vanilla PS4 to see how shitty it really looks.

Meanwhile the PC version running at 1080/60 maxed out on a GTX 1050ti. It's been a good surprise.
